Our story began with Lola and Mike Buffa, whose passion for construction was rooted in hard work, craftsmanship, and a belief that every home should be built to stand the test of time. After immigrating from Spain and Italy, they built their first home together in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during the 1950s. More than seventy years later, that home still stands as a lasting testament to their commitment to quality.
The Buffa family brought their experience and vision to the United States in the late 1960s, constructing their first American home in Staten Island, New York. Over the following decades, they built custom homes and commercial properties throughout the country, including luxury waterfront residences along South Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway and premier homes in Boca Raton’s most distinguished communities.
In 1974, Mike Buffa returned to his hometown of Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, where the family built a vacation farmhouse overlooking the Sicilian countryside. The project reflected the same old-world craftsmanship, attention to detail, and enduring construction principles that continue to influence our work today. That connection to European building traditions remains a defining part of our philosophy and approach.
Since the early 1990s, L&M Construction Group has proudly served the Atlanta market, building custom homes in many of the region’s most prestigious communities, including Country Club of the South, Horseshoe Bend, Buckhead, Alpharetta, and surrounding areas. Through every project, our reputation has been built on exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and lasting relationships with our clients.
In 2016, founder Mike Buffa retired and entrusted the company to the next generation. Today, Joseph Buffa proudly leads the family business, carrying forward the values and standards established decades ago. Having grown up around construction sites and immersed in the building industry from an early age, Joseph combines traditional craftsmanship with modern building techniques to create homes that are both timeless and functional.
